Margaret Czupta never had an ‘aha’ moment when it came to creating decorative art. Ever since she was a little girl, Margaret was gifted with a unique mastery of taste. Art lives within her, whether in the form of fashion, interior design, floral arranging or just “blinging out” knickknacks around the house. She has an eye and ingenious talent for it all.
Margaret’s work is an exploration and celebration of craft and handworking traditions. She finds inspiration in all things, from everyday objects to travel and cultures around the world. Her biggest muse- sparkles that radiate. It is the enduring fusion of these ideals-originality, brilliance and technique that has become the hallmark of this talented artist. Journeying through various antique shops and estate sales, Margaret strikes gold when it comes to any ornate trinket whether it be glamorous earrings, baroque bracelets, vintage brooches or lavish necklaces. She delicately breaks apart these pieces to construct overlapping fragments that create the perfectly imperfect parts. With these beautiful bits, the magic of bedazzle transpires. From magnificent oceanside seashells, vases and urns to barware, sculptures and frames- in her eyes, any ‘thing’ can dazzle and therefore be bedazzled! Thus marks the creation of Eliad Designs, named after her four children-Ela, Andrew, Olivia and David. |
